Chart Information Overlay

Chart Info Overlay is a simple but essential utility indicator that displays key chart identification information directly on the price panel. The overlay shows three pieces of information: the instrument name (such as ES, NQ, CL, or any symbol), the chart's timeframe (5 Minute, 1 Hour, Daily, etc.), and the current date. This persistent display ensures you always know exactly what you're looking at, which becomes increasingly valuable as the number of open chart windows grows.

For traders running multi-monitor setups with numerous charts, Chart Info eliminates the common problem of losing track of which chart shows which instrument or timeframe. Rather than checking window titles or tab labels, the information is displayed directly on the chart canvas where your eyes naturally focus during analysis. This reduces errors from executing trades on the wrong chart and improves overall workflow efficiency when managing complex chart layouts.

The indicator offers nine positioning options (Top Left, Top Right, Top Center, Bottom Left, Bottom Right, Bottom Center, Center, Left Center, Right Center) plus fine-tune controls with horizontal and vertical pixel offsets ranging from -500 to +500 pixels. This flexibility ensures the overlay can be placed precisely where it doesn't obstruct important price action while remaining visible. Full visual customization includes text color selection, opacity control from 0-100% (allowing anything from prominent text to a subtle watermark effect), and font size adjustment from 8 to 48 pixels.

Chart Info uses optimized SharpDX Direct2D rendering with intelligent resource caching. The text format and static strings (instrument, timeframe) are cached at startup, with only the date recalculated as needed. This design ensures minimal CPU and memory impact, making the indicator suitable for traders who run dozens of charts simultaneously without performance degradation.
