Multi-Timeframe Multi-MA

MTF Multi-MA plots up to four moving averages from a higher timeframe directly onto your primary chart, allowing you to see longer-term trend structure while analyzing lower-timeframe price action. This multi-timeframe approach is essential for traders who want to ensure their entries on lower timeframes align with the dominant trend visible on higher timeframes, without needing to switch between multiple chart windows.

Each of the four moving averages is independently configurable with its own type (Simple, Exponential, or Weighted) and period. Default settings provide a common combination: 9 EMA, 20 EMA, 50 EMA, and 200 EMA. The higher timeframe source is selected from preset options including 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, and 60-minute intervals. All calculations are performed on the higher timeframe data series, then the values are projected onto your primary chart's bars for seamless visualization.

The indicator handles all multi-timeframe data series management automatically, adding the secondary timeframe during configuration and caching the moving average indicator instances during data loading for optimal performance. Defensive guards ensure proper operation during the initial bars while the higher timeframe series builds sufficient history for the longest configured period.

Plot colors are fully customizable through NinjaTrader's standard plot configuration, with defaults of Lime, Red, Cyan, and Orange for the four MAs. The indicator integrates with the BadBuddha update service for automatic version checking, and uses NinjaTrader's user-based vendor licensing system (NT 8.1+) to tie the PRO license to the user's signed-in NinjaTrader account rather than machine-based activation.
